Check Your Organisation’s Online Presence
Make sure your school or organisation knows what information about it is visible online. This includes websites and online services linked to the organisation. Ensure accounts used to manage these are protected with strong passwords and only shared with the right people.
Regular checks should be carried out to make sure online systems are kept up to date. Systems that are not updated can be an easy target for cyber‑attacks.
Dealing With Phishing Emails
All staff should know how to report suspicious emails. If something looks unusual, unexpected, or asks for personal information, it should be reported straight away. There should be a clear process so these emails are checked and dealt with quickly.
Access for External Companies
If outside companies or suppliers can access school systems, only the access they genuinely need should be given. Any access that is no longer required should be removed. The school should also make sure these companies take security seriously and protect information properly.
