14 Jun 2016 School Radio Filed as: AV Reviews We installed some outdoor speakers at a local school during half term, which was phase 1 of the school radio project. Phase 2 was a small studio for the station. Like most schools space is an issue, and so the main equipment needed to be in a flightcase. Pictured below is the equipment we supplied and setup. the amplification equipment was installed on a shelf higher up, this then connects to the outdoor speakers. Below is a small mixer, with 3 microphones connected to it, labelled up Mic 1, 2, & 3 A headphone splitter was installed to allow 3 sets of headphones to be connected to the system, so 3 students could take part at one time. A laptop is used to play out music, with the option of a touch screen device such as an Ipad for jingles / backing music on some quick touch hotkeys. An “on air light” is installed outside of the door, which lights up red when the system is in use. The system is used daily at lunch time’s and the Year 6’s take turns to be the presenters. Systems like this can easily be setup, and may not cost as much as you think. contact us for more information.
